Daniel Dubois delivered a dominant performance to stop Fabio Wardley in the second round of their rematch at London's O2 Arena. The victory allowed Dubois to retain his WBO heavyweight title following their earlier 11-round encounter this year.

Daniel Dubois successfully defended his WBO heavyweight title with an emphatic second-round stoppage victory over Fabio Wardley at the O2 Arena in London.

The contest, a much-anticipated rematch following their grueling 11-round bout earlier in the year, saw Dubois take complete control from the opening bell. Just 17 seconds into the opening frame, the 29-year-old caught Wardley flush on the chin with a massive overhand right to score an immediate knockdown.

Dubois continued to connect at will throughout the remainder of the first round. By the end of the frame, Wardley was forced to hold on desperately while trapped on the ropes under a continuous barrage of punches.

The relentless pressure carried directly into the second round, where the 6ft 5in Dubois unleashed another aggressive offensive flurry that left his opponent in deep trouble. With Dubois consistently landing heavy blows on a defenceless Wardley, the towel was thrown in to stop the bout after two minutes and 21 seconds of the round.

With the victory, Dubois advanced his professional record to 24-3-0, earning his 23rd knockout. The 31-year-old Wardley saw his record drop to 20-2-1.
